Making Professional Fitted Kitchens

Thanks to today’s advanced design and construction techniques, even off-the-shelf kitchen components can be used to create unique fitted kitchens. While you used to have to get a qualified kitchen designer to come out to your house and custom design your kitchen, today you can do it yourself and save.

As little as 10 years ago, kitchen design programs were very expensive and required more memory than the average home computer could cope with. Now that computers have far more memory and download speeds have increased correspondingly, you can find adequate kitchen design programs online and design your own kitchen.

Kitchen cabinet components now come in a wide variety of sizes and styles. You can mix and match the cabinet widths to fit into just about any sized space. Let’s say you need to get enough cabinets to fit into an area 8 feet 3 inches long.

You can put a three foot wide sink cabinet in the middle and then divide up the space on either side with equal sized standard cabinets. That three inch gap can be filled with a filler strip on one end and you will have the equivalent of a custom built kitchen using cheap standard sized cabinets.

If you are a DIY type of person, you can even install the kitchen yourself. You may need the benchtop to be trimmed to size by the manufacturer, but that’s about it. For the rest of the kitchen, your standard home range of tools will be more than adequate to do the job.

More elaborate fitted kitchens may require more professional help. You will need to get a quote for these, but you might be surprised by how competitive the price will be. Whatever option you choose, thanks to modern technology, you will end up with a beautiful new kitchen.
